What would Jesus Ride

I found this online. ===Skid===

It was a grand day in heaven today, God out of the kindness of his heart had organized a day at the races and many angels of all rankings were expected to be in attendance. I mean it's not every day that God arranges motorcycle race days and today was not one to be missed.

There was much chatter going on between many of the angels and bets being placed upon which motorcycle Jesus would be turning up on. Rumors abounded, some angels had heard some rather familiar engine noises coming from a particular corner of the universe and so everyone was on tender hooks wondering if on this occasion they might win the race.

God, they knew had been planning this event for rather a long time. Knowing that He is the Alpha and the Omega, knowing the beginning from the end, one of the angels wryly remarked that the race had no doubt been rigged so there could only be one sure fire winner, however this was not putting off many of the angels who by now were revving their engines in earnest as a great sweep of excited expectation passed through all the old and young souls alike. Everyone was looking forward to the race.

The course had already been laid out in advance, near the planet which is commonly referred to as earth. There was some concern in fact that a man made satellite might present some problems since its orbit was known to be creeping ever closer to the race track itself. One of the younger souls finally saw it, not more than half an hour before the first race was to begin and floating over, gave it a hefty boot with his right foot, bending it like Beckham out of harm’s way, unfortunately on this occasion clanging another older angel on the head en route. Still, it was safe to say that's its orbit would not now effect this grand motorcycle heavenly event.

Then suddenly a fanfare started up, several angels blowing their trumpets and a hush befell the crowd. Hear, hark! What is that? It's Jesus! He's coming on his motorcycle. All the angels gathered together craning forwards to get a better look. Everyone wanted to see which motorcycle Jesus would be riding today. As excitement gripped the crowd of onlookers, suddenly behind an asteroid belt in He rode and much to everyone's amazement and to the general hilarity of some of the younger souls, Jesus was today riding a Vespa motorcycle. In actual fact he looked rather cool upon it and sweeping to a curving skid in front of the main stage area, alighted and stood there beaming radiantly at the crowd, as He took off his retro styled helmet. His white beard immediately fell loose from the strap and flowed out glinting in the early morning sunshine.

Grinning from ear to ear He turned to the crowd and began to address them on the rules for the day. No barging other angels on the track, everyone must wear appropriate helmets etc pre-approved by the heaven sports council etc. Then majestically, he made His way over to a new building and entered it. Meanwhile a hush fell upon the crowd of waiting angels, 'What the dickens is He up to now?’ said one.

They were not to wait long before the answer became immediately obvious as the building which just a second or so before had been there, suddenly blew apart into smithereens in all directions and there was Jesus on his race motorcycle. With an almighty roar that reverberated around the solar system, a huge cheer went up among the myriads of angels gathered and a look of sheer astonishment on the faces of not a few of them. Jesus, still grinning from ear to ear twisted the throttle again and a few of the recently admitted souls to heaven recognized the sound straightaway!

'Here He comes, make way', some of the older angels ushered the parting crowd to each side to make way for Him. Jesus today was riding his favorite motorcycle of all, a Victory Vision 800 in gleaming gold.

Gasps of delight rippled around all of the other souls, who now started to make their own way towards their own bikes and before long had passed, the first stage was set with Jesus in pole position on the starting grid, cutting a fine sight for all the other competitors behind him. The course today was only a mere 100 light years around; large by human terms but just an average sized track as far as heavenly sporting events go.

The noise was incredible; a shimmering heat haze of engines screaming on Red Bull sponsored star system fuel cells. The flag was up, then quick as a flash lowered and all the riders tearing off towards the Sun with Jesus of course leading the way.

What a Dam Ride!

Well since everyone else was committed to baseball, family or work. I decided to go for a ride today the 30th of June.

Did I mention that I am on vacation this week.

I started out going to BikersTown and purchasing a new sissy bar tour bag, what a neat bag for touring. After installing the bag I headed up highway 97 to Wells dam, where I met a couple from Maine they were traveling for the summer in a ford pickup, nice people.

I then traveled up river to Bridgeport and Chief Joseph dam, on the road I noticed an eagles nest close to the road that had a nesting eagle got a couple of good pictures.

Next on to Omak, had lunch at Arby's and got lost looking for the road to Grand Coulee dam, ended up going back to Okanogan and then again towards Omak when I finally found the highway to Grand Coulee. Over Disautel Pass it was a nice cool ride since the sun was nice and warm. Well the road crews decided that it was time to put fresh oil and gravel all the way from Omak to Grand Coulee.

At Grand Coulee dam I met a couple from Germany that had come to the Pacific Northwest for their vacation. I had this thought as I left, how often do we think of people coming here for vacation, if you are like me, you think that vacations are for going to places like Maine or Germany. Another neat couple.

On to Dry Falls, what an amazing place sure it is no Grand Canyon but it is still quite amazing to think about how this area we call home came to be carved out of basalt rock.

Then it was home. all in all I traveled just shy of 300 miles today, and got plenty of sun and had a good time, met some very neat people. What a day. No problems just a couple people trying to drive in the same lane that I was traveling. Did I mention the sun, well I have a pretty good tan now because of it. ===Skid===

Ride to Tri-Cities

Well, the ride to the Tri-Cities came and went. Scott, Clyde and myself left at 9:30 Sat. morning and had a very good ride, a little rainy from the Vernita Bridge to the Tri-Cities, but well worth the time. Clyde was a trooper playing sweeper the whole trip. Had a good lunch and visit with my in-laws and then went to the Harley shop in Kennewick, the ride home was quick , no rain on the way home. Got home around 4-4:30 or so.

We need to get some more riding in, after Mother's day I will try to do some earnest ride planning. Still hoping to get some suggestions from others!

The Run to the Border is in 2 weeks, I will be asking you if you are interested in going so don't hide.

Ride Suggestions

I would like to see this blog site used by others than myself, so I'm suggesting that we use this site to post suggested rides for this year. If you are not sure how to post your suggestions, all you would have to do is leave a comment at the bottom of this post. Just click on the comment link at the bottom and state your ride suggestion. If you still have problems then give me a call and I will talk you through it.

So far there have been a couple of rides suggested:

1) Run for the Border May 16th meet at Wenatchee Food Pavilion Parking Lot, registration starts at 7:30 AM, ride to start at 10:00 AM. Cost is $10.00 per bike. Benefit to help Heidi and Heather Flowers. (Done)

2) Dam to Dam to Dam, we would start here in Wenatchee then ride to Rocky Reach, Chelan Falls, Wells, Chief Joseph, Grand Coulee, Rock Island and then home. (Great ride need to do again)

3) The Old Stevens Pass bypass road.

4) North Cascades

5) Day trip to the Tri-Cities, May 2nd this one is most definite at the moment. (Done)

These are the ones that I know of so lets put some thought to this and get some order to our group. ===Skid===

Light Riders

This past Saturday Micheal Acker and my self were invited to meet with another Christian biker group in the valley. They call them selves The Light Riders, they are a group from Christ Center Church in Cashmere. I have included a link from this blog to their website if your interested. They are welcoming all who would like, to ride with them on their rides. This is a very open group and they are open to all suggested rides. On their website they have a calendar of up coming rides (so far nothing has been posted) this calendar is open for posting to all registered members. All are invited to register.

We will be inviting them on our rides also. That is if we all agree. ===Skid===
